A report that information was exposed does not establish that a class action has been filed or that compensation is available. Before relying on a claim about a case, check what stage it has actually reached.

Verify case information and deadlines
Look for a case name, court, and official documents. For a settlement, use the court-authorized notice to understand who is included and what actions or deadlines apply. Do not assume a general news article contains the full terms.

Prepare questions for an attorney
Keep the notice and relevant records ready. Ask whether your circumstances fit the matter being evaluated, what additional documentation is needed, whether any deadlines apply, and what the proposed representation and fee terms are.
